Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > May 2006: our second strawberry rhubarb pie. The filling firmed up better than the first one did (a smidge more cornstarch).
Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > It's topped with turbinado sugar instead of regular granulated. The hearts got a little over-carmelized... a few minutes less next time. This pie was heartily enjoyed by my family.

Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > Unfortunately, I built the crust out too far and it melted off and caught fire on the bottom of the oven. The pie was miraculously unburnt and tasted wonderful although it wasn't as beautiful after cooking.
Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > We learn the art of pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving 2006, while the old standby apple gets overtoasty.
Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > Blackberry mini-pie! We had some leftover crust, and blackberries were on sale. Voila, pie in a bowl.
Tara Ward (tara-noelle) > Mike made this apple pie for Mother's Day 2007 all by himself. Maybe it's not as pretty as some of my pies, but it was utterly delish nonetheless.
